웬디 어스킨의 두 단편 소설집 『스위트 홈 Sweet Home』과 『댄스 무브 Dance Move』는 더 스팅잉 플라이 프레스와 피카도르에서 출간되었으며 타임스 리터러리 서플리먼트, 옵저버, 가디언, 더 화이트 리뷰, 아이뉴스, 아이리시 타임스 등 다양한 매체에서 올해의 책으로 선정되었다. 최근 페이퍼 비주얼 아트 북스에서 홈 아트와 관련된 글을 모은 앤솔로지 『글쎄요 그냥 마음에 들어요 well I just kind of like it』를 편집했다. 그 밖에도 러프 트레이드 북스와 탠저린 프레스를 포함한 여러 출판사를 통해 글을 발표하였다. 고든번상, 엣지힐상, 리퍼블릭 오브 컨셔스니스상, 선데이타임스 단편소설상 등 다양한 상에 후보로 올랐다. 2021년에는 버틀러 문학상을, 2022년에는 엣지힐 독자상을 수상했다. 현재 벨파스트에서 중등학교 전임 교사로 재직 중이다.
Wendy Erskine’s two short story collections, Sweet Home and Dance Move are published by The Stinging Fly Press and Picador. They were variously books of the year in publications including the Times Literary Supplement, the Observer, the Guardian, The White Review, iNews and the Irish Times. She recently edited well I just kind of like it, an anthology of writing relating to art in the home for Paper Visual Art Books. Other writing has been published by, among others, Rough Trade Books and The Tangerine Press. Her work has been listed for many awards including the Gordon Burn Prize, the Edgehill Prize, the Republic of Consciousness Prize and the Sunday Times Short Story Prize. She won the Butler Literary Award in 2021 and the Edgehill Readers’ Prize in 2022. She is a full-time secondary school teacher in Belfast.
