앤드루 포터는 단편 소설집 『빛과 물질에 관한 이론』으로 단편소설 부문 플래너리 오코너상을 수상하였으며, 소설 『어떤 날들』로 반스앤노블 “훌륭한 신인 작가 발견(Discover Great New Writer)”과 인디바운드 “인디 넥스트(Indie Next)”에 선정되었다. 2023년 4월에 단편 소설집 『실종자The Disappeared』를 출간했다. 그의 책은 영국과 호주에서 해외판으로 출간되었으며 프랑스어, 스페인어, 네덜란드어, 불가리아어, 한국어를 비롯한 다양한 언어로 번역되었다. 아이오와 대학 작가 워크숍을 졸업하였고, 현재는 샌안토니오에 위치한 트리니티 대학에서 영문학과 교수이자 문예창작 프로그램 디렉터로 재직 중이다. 포터의 세 소설은 모두 문학동네에서 한국어판으로 출간되었거나 출간을 앞두고 있다.
Andrew Porter is the author of the short story collection The Theory of Light and Matter, which won the Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction, the novel In Between Days, which was a Barnes & Noble “Discover Great New Writers” selection and an IndieBound “Indie Next” selection, and the short story collection The Disappeared, which was just released in April 2023. Porter’s books have been published in foreign editions in the UK and Australia and translated into numerous languages, including French, Spanish, Dutch, Bulgarian, and Korean. A graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, Porter is currently a Professor of English and Director of the Creative Writing Program at Trinity University in San Antonio. All three of Porter’s books have been published or are forthcoming in Korean by Munhakdongne.
