1995년 중편소설 「이중주」로 등단했다. 소설집 『타인에게 말 걸기』, 『아름다움이 나를 멸시한다』, 『다른 모든 눈송이와 아주 비슷하게 생긴 단 하나의 눈송이』, 『장미의 이름은 장미』와 장편소설 『새의 선물』, 『비밀과 거짓말』, 『태연한 인생』, 『빛의 과거』 등을 냈다. 이상문학상, 동인문학상, 황순원문학상 등을 수상했다.
Eun Heekyung began her literary career in 1995 with the novella“Duet”. She is the author of many books, including the short-story collections Talking to a Stranger, Beauty Looks Down on Me, A Snowflake that Looks Like All the Others, A Rose Named Rose, the full-length novels Gift of the Birds, Secrets and Lies, A Composed Life, and The Past of Light. She has been the recipient of many awards, including the Yi Sang Literature Prize, the Dong-in Literature Prize, and the Hwang Sun-won Literature Prize.
