Samanta Schweblin Novelist Argentina
Samanta Schweblin was born in 1978 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Chosen by Granta as one of the 22 best writers in Spanish under the age of 35, she is widely regarded as one of the key voices of the new Latin American literature. She is the author of the short story collection Mouthful of Birds, which won the Casa de las Américas Prize and was nominated for the Man Booker International Prize, and the novel Fever Dream, which was short-listed for the 2017 Man Booker International Prize. In 2020, Schweblin was again long-listed for the Man Booker International Prize for Kentukis. Her novel Fever Dream was adapted into a film by Netflix in 2021.
