1988년 출생. 성균관대학교 프랑스어문학과 신문방송학과를 졸업하고 동국대학교 대학원 문예창작학과를 수료했다. 2016년 문학동네신인상에 「패리스 힐튼을 찾습니다」가 당선되어 작품활동을 시작했다. 소설집 『알려지지 않은 예술가의 눈물과 자이툰 파스타』, 연작소설 『대도시의 사랑법』, 장편소설 『1차원이 되고 싶어』, 산문집 『오늘 밤은 굶고 자야지』가 있다. 연작소설 『대도시의 사랑법』이 부커 인터내셔널 후보에 올랐으며, 제9회 젊은작가상, 제10회 젊은작가상 대상, 제11회 허균문학작가상, 제39회 신동엽문학상 등을 수상했다.
Born in 1988, Sang Young Park graduated with an undergraduate degree in French Language and Literature and Media and Communication at Sungkyunkwan University and undertook a master’s degree in creative writing at Dongguk University. He made his literary debut in 2016, winning the Munhakdongne New Writers’ Award for his short story “Searching for Paris Hilton.” He is the author of the short-story collection The Tears of an Unknown Artist, or Zaytun Pasta, the collection of short-stories Love in the Big City, the novel I Want to be One-Dimensional, and the essay collection I Should Go to Sleep Hungry Tonight. Love in the Big City was a finalist for the International Booker Prize. In addition, Park has been the recipient of many awards and prizes, including the 9th Young Writers’ Award, the 10th Young Writers’ Award Grand Prize, the 11th Heo Gyun Literary Award, and the 39th Shin Dong-yup Prize for Literature.
