Kim Ae-ran Novelist South Korea
Born in 1980 in Incheon, Kim Ae-ran grew up in Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do. She studied Playwriting at the Korean National University of Arts. She received the 1st Daesan Literary Award in Fiction for her short story “The House Where One Does Not Knock” in 2002, which was published in the quarterly Changbi in 2003. Her short story collections are Run, Patriarch! and The Mouth Waters. She has won numerous awards including the Hankook Ilbo Literary Award, Lee Hyo-seok Literary Award, Today's Young Artist Award from the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Shin Dong-yeop Literary Award.
