An Heon-mi was born in 1972 in Taebaek, Gangwo-do. She studied Creative Writing at Seoul National University of Science and Technology. She made her debut in 2001 winning the Munhak Dongne New Writer’s Award with four poems including “Gomgom” [a play on words referring to bears and the word ‘contemplative’] and is active as a member of the poetry group ‘Inconvenience’. She was awarded the 28th Shin Dong-yeop Literary Award in 2010 for Remix of a Parting. She has published the poetry collections Gomgom, Remix of a Parting, and Love Gets Repaired One Day.
