Cho Haejin was born in 1976 in Seoul, Korea. She debuted as a novelist in 2004 with the publication of her work in the literary journal Munye Joongang. Cho is the author of the short story collections City of Angels, Let’s Meet on Thursday, and The Guard of Light; and the novels I Met Lo Kiwan, A Forest That No One Has Seen, Passing Summer, and Simple Truth. She has received the Shin Dong-yup Prize for Literature, the Mukhakdongne Young Writers’ Award, the Lee Hyoseok Literary Award, the Baek Sin-ae Literary Award, the Hyeongpyeong Literary Prize and the Daesan Literary Award among many others.
