에로스와 꿈
문학 안에서 꿈꾼다, 사랑한다
살기 위해 꿈꾸는 것일까
꿈꾸기 위해 살아가는 것일까
꿈과 에로스를 더하면 희망일 수 있다.
꿈과 에로스를 더하면 절망이 될 수도 있다.
꿈과 에로스 사이에는 결코 가까워 질 수 없는 아이러니가 있을 수도 있다.
꿈과 에로스 어쩌면 하나의 동의어일 수도 있고 혹은 대척점에 놓인 반대말일 지도 모른다.
우리는 꿈과 에로스로 만들어진 사방의 좌표 어디쯤에서 다른 어딘가를 향해 진동 중일 것이다.
살아있다는 것은 결국 떨리는 것이고 에로스는 그 떨림을 느끼는 것, 꿈은 그 떨림을 더 생생한 차원으로 높이는 것 일 테다.
시작은 사소했다.
우리는 에로스가 무척 희박한 세상에 살고 있다.
언어 속에서 찾는 에로스는 꿈과 닮아 있기도 했다.
아니 에로스를 찾기 위해 우리는 더 자주 꿈을 꾸어야 했다.
에로스와 꿈은 그 기의가 무척 넓은 단어이다.
추상적이기 때문에 외연이 그리는 동심원은 커졌다.
우리는 세계 각국에서 모인 많은 작가들이 에로스와 꿈이라는 언어의 외피를 벗겨
닮은 듯 다른 에로스, 꿈을 목격하고 싶다.
다른 언어로 꾸는 낯선 꿈, 다른 언어로 그려내는 그 에로스.
우리는 언어의 아이러니와 불일치 가운데서 한편 그 언어를 넘어서는 공감을 찾는다.
작가축제가 그 풍성한 꿈과 충돌하는 에로스의 ‘장소’가 되어 주기를 바란다.

Eros and Dream
Dreams Written on Page, Love Envisioned in Words
We dream and love through literature. The eros of literature forms communities linked not by blood but by conversation, that bloom and flourish all over this green earth. But where exactly does it bloom?
The community created by literature raises its roof and throws open its windows wherever eros and dreams find their way. The people of earth are connected to each other under this beautiful roof like the constellations in the night sky. We may be very far from one another, but if one should raise a hand and say, hello, you can be sure that someone will flash their hand in answer. Today we shall shake hands with our friends that have flown so far across the skies, and talk about dreams and love in literature all night.
